In the long run, would recommend investing in an HTML book and learning how to code yourself. Its not really that hard once you have the basics down.

Book? What year is this!? :p

Overall good suggestion.  Many online resources are available though.

I'd start here: http://www.w3schools.com/

Go through HTML and css, use something like notepad++ to experiment.

When you understand the basics you can tinker with code and templates from sites such as http://tympanus.net/codrops/

If you don't want to "code" it yourself I would suggest to just install wordpress and a theme and modify it a bit. I certainly do not suggest to use a drag an drop website "creator".

I'm a student (so to say) in this field as well... So I would be extremely greatful if you guys could recommend some good trustworthy online resources to use as learning aides.

As regards  http://www.w3schools.com/ I've come across some controversial opinions that their information is not exactly correct. Which is quite hard to believe. Do you think it could be true?

Anyway, I've seen a nice youtube channel recently and got subscribed to it. It is called SFHTML5 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyupHmJVuUGpCMzemHYnUqQ

They've got helluva great tips and lessons on different aspects of html5/css3 and web design in general.
