Mobile device browser emulator software for UQA/IQA web testing

Question

wintersoldier

Hi all, I'm looking for some help/opinions with finding a solution for my workplace. We are in need of a software (preferably downloadable/local install) to test loading our website on various mobile  devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.). I've found several cloud service offerings by searching through Google, but very few offer an offline version that can be installed locally. While this wouldn't be an issue for our live site, none of our UQA/IQA websites are open to the internet, taking those cloud services out of the mix.

We'll have a team of roughly 10 users doing the UQA/IQA testing (internal site access only), and also a team of support specialists who will need to emulate a device for customer service for the site published to the internet (eg. grandma calls in and says that shes browsing our site on her iPad and this part won't work or she doesn't know what to select, etc.)

I did find that Browserstack has an offline mode, however the price per user per month would be quite high for the needs of our company (potentially 25-50 people using the software at one time).

I'm wondering what others are using to accomplish testing and/or support of this sort? I was hoping for an all-in-one solution, and least for the customer service folks who aren't hugely techy and need quick access to the info.

Thank you!

Latest Visual Studio has a testing framework and with Hyper-V all sorts of (efficient) emulators can be loaded.
