0 MulletRobZ
You don't need to use the database converter in ICQ to restore your contacts. All you need to do is copy your ICQ contact list files to your 2000b or 2001a folder. Then it should pick up the contacts automatically. Also, if you were to restore your contacts on 2000b, I recommend that you use 2001b so that whenever ICQ f***s up again, you can automatically retrieve your contacts from the server! 0 Winston
to my knowledge if your db file is screwed up and u get vb runtime error scripting and time to time crashes occuing in 1 minute intervals ur db is officially stuffed no way to fix tomy knowledge i have experienced this so thats why i back up one copy on another partition and copy another copy on program files directory and use that thats the best way to keep to it if u want to use 2000b 2001b is a pos so no point using it i have a decent speed computer and i still dont use 2001b dont wanna step into aols trap more deeper anymore i have learnt my lessons
0 grimman
so here goes; i backed up the ENTIRE icq-dir before the format... so when i copied it back and installed icq over it (as i always do) it ****ed... after a day i got the idea to delete it all, copy the backup to the program dir, install icq and copy the backup AGAIN. it worked... kinda weird, but worked :) icq is yet to emerge victorious over papa grimms ;)
0 hurting101
If all else fails, you can get alot of info from the ICQ DB file with this program: http://www.headstrong.de/software-icqrinfo.shtml
0 Vlad
Update ICQ to the latest version and store your contact list on the icq servers.
