KenLin
I am very excited about this. I just hope Snyder gives him what he needs. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129663-joe-gibbs/#findComment-1565558 Share on other sites
....
11 years is a LONG time to be away....and he was away....not even in the sport during that timeframe. I like Gibbs a lot, but I doubt he'll be himself for a couple of years. mattmatik
What is the difference between the Redskins today now that Gibbs has signed on, and the Redskins from a week ago when Spurrier signed off? They still have a terrible roster, no quarterback, no running back, Champ Bailey is a free agent, blah blah...but most importantly, DAN SNYDER IS STILL THE OWNER! I like Joe Gibbs but I don't think this will be the "return to glory" some are predicting. Of course, please prove me wrong - I'd rather see the Redskins in the playoffs than the Cowboys any day. Xeonic
Great hire, but Gibbs has been away from the game for 11 years...I wonder how long it takes him to get back into his coaching form. But again...thats what we said about Parcells and look what he did. quigley0
Parcells is a good example of possibilites, but I am thinking more like Dick Vermiel. It may take about two years, but the redskins will be NFC champ contenders. IlliniPi
I was thinking along the lines with what quigley0 said too. Look at Dick Vermiel, takes a few years off, comes back with an OK team and makes them look great. I think Gibbs has the potential to make some improvements with this team.
