I played the first two a lot (and bought the third - which I need to at least give a re-install on the Anniversary Update; I still have all three CDs it came on and all the docs).  Will there be an actual demo of this one, though?

This is 1 of the 4 games that makes this possibly the single best 30 days in releases that I can remember in a very, very long time. Needless to say this is my own personal opinion and based on my personal preferences and tastes in video games. But starting next week, I cannot remember a 30 day period that has so many games I have been very much looking forward to playing.

In case anyone is wondering, in no particular order, the reason I feel this is perhaps the best 30 day period in releases that I can remember is because of:

  1. Uncharted 4 (May 10th)
  2. Doom 4 (May 15th)
  3. Overwatch (May 24th)
  4. Mirror's Edge Catalyst (June 7th)

It also really helps I finally have a new Gaming PC that I got about 2 weeks ago. A 980Ti GPU combined with a 27" G-Sync enabled 2160 x 1440 resolution monitor really has reinvigorated my love, and preference, for PC gaming. 3 out of the 4 games, including Doom, I will be playing on my new PC, so it also very much feels like I am "back" to PC Gaming while taking a way longer break that I should have.

Cannot wait for the 13th. Already Pre-ordered for the PC.

The audio/music is distracting.

Far from it - the music is based on the music from the original Doom of 23 years ago - it's wonderful to hear it again.

(Yes, I know Bobby Prince basically ripped off a load of metal songs at the time, but I associate that music with Doom as that's where I heard it first!)

I dusted off my DOOM 3 copy (and yes - it does work on Windows 10); the thing is it's been so long I need to dust off my Game Guide for it (yes - I actually do still have it; trade-sized PRIMA Game Guide typical of its day).

The delay for reviews has me a bit worried, but how can you really fluff up DOOM? I'll probably still wait for the inevitable bargain bin price in ~1 month.

There's really nothing to worry about IMO, the game is great. Worlds better than DOOM 3. It's still early days, so my opinion could change, but I doubt it will. I hope we see a sequel or standalone expansion ala Wolf: The Old Blood, very soon!

What terrible timing, my monitor just bit the dust. :( Guess i wont be able to play this one for a week or so.

Oooof.  May want to consider an ACER B286HK for a replacement.

    • Isn’t it so sweet Microsoft after so many years of neglect, they admit to these issues in Windows lately? Doesn’t this just make you wanna run out and meet them halfway to give them a warm hug only? Just gives us this warm fuzzy feeling thinking about it. /s
