quigley0
I am getting scared. Why, oh Why haven't we signed him yet???? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/ Share on other sites
Remote
We offered him a contract but he didnt accept. He made a counter offer to the Os which they have not responded too. Now the mets and dodgers are after him, but sources say they dont have the money to beat our offer. Mets have a great chance to get them thought because it is "New York" (BOOO), and LA does have a large ethnic population. I think its gonna be a toss up of the Os and Mets Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1567423 Share on other sites
quigley0
Man, we really need to give him the money. This team needs a star player. I know we have Lopez, and Tejada, but he would make for a great offseason. blackcoffee
Vlady would be so welcomed in an Orioles uniform :) Wow; that would just compliment to the terrific additions thus far. We just need pitching man ! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1567642 Share on other sites
CatnipOligarchy
reports are saying the mets are the top competitor to baltimore, but the O's are still the front runner right now Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1568563 Share on other sites

quigley0
Man, we need to drop the hammer and close the deal. I mean, i know it's alot of money. But, I attended plenty of of games with attendence at 50% or below. A competitive team will bring the fans back. Get it done Angelos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trikster
He'll sign with the O's eventually. The Orioles have wanted Vlady from the beginning, and they'll get him in the end. I wouldn't worry about the situation that much. That said, next year's going to be an interesting season. This is the first time in a long while that I honestly believe that Yankees might not win first place in the AL East, which is pretty unbelievable. CatnipOligarchy
whats he asking for? what are his conditions? baltimore offered him 5 years $65m.. so $13 mil a year.. i dont know that the mets have made an official offer yet. i think he'll end up in baltimore, who wants to play for the mets anyways Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1570424 Share on other sites

Remote
Orioles sources told The Baltimore Sun that the team has made marked progress in negotiations with Guerrero, perhaps the best available free agent this offseason. In fact, an unnamed, high-ranking Orioles official told The Sun that "you can pretty much bet that deal's going to be made."Guerrero was expected to make a final decision within 48 hours, sources told the New York Daily News on Wednesday night. However, there is a VERY good chance he will end up a METALSO!!!!! Baltimore also is close to an agreement to re-sign first basman Rafael Palmeiro, The Sun reported. Palmeiro hit 214 home runs between 1994 and 1998. The 39-year-old free agent, who has 528 career homers, played the last five seasons for the Texas Rangers. NICE!! I love him, sad when we lost him. I havent been this excited for the Os in a long time. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1570443 Share on other sites
Remote
Vlad is VERY close to signing with the Os, should find out tomorrow Palmero is as good as signed so you will see him in the uniform next season. Gibbons will be the DH now. Keep in mind that palmeiro, vlad and lopez all ahve the same agent, so that works in our favor Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1571605 Share on other sites

Remote
By signing Palmeiro and Guerrero, the Orioles would have a massive difference in power in their lineup from last year. They have already signed All-Stars Tejada and Javy Lopez, who hit a combined 70 homers last year. By adding Guerrero and Palmeiro, the foursome would carry 133 home runs from last season. CatnipOligarchy
well this is pretty cool.. man it would be so awesome if boston and baltimore both finished ahead of the yankees Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1571900 Share on other sites
quigley0
I just hope that the money spent on Palmero doesn't detract from the money that we are willing to spend on Vlady. But, that being said, Palmero was a great oriole, and he will be again. Hopefully he can retire here. Remote
I just hope that the money spent on Palmero doesn't detract from the money that we are willing to spend on Vlady. But, that being said, Palmero was a great oriole, and he will be again. Hopefully he can retire here. It wont take away from what we would offer vlady. He is asking for more then he is worth. He wants a long contract yet he has a bad back and didnt play for half of last season. He is a gamble. We dont need another scott erikson Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/129666-baltimore/#findComment-1578604 Share on other sites
quigley0
Yeah, he has a bad back. But, he is what? 27? Plenty of time to heal that back. Scotty was in his 30's with all his ailments. Remote
The World Series champion Marlins have made a one-year offer for more than $10 million, and Guerrero's first choice is believed to be Florida, according to Saturday's Newark Star-Ledger.
