There's enough time, and they only said 2017, not holiday 2017, it could be next Spring, or in the summer, like July.    At least they're going to give developers time to play with it.

They did say Holiday 2017.

Unless I'm dyslexic lol.

The question is - if you are thinking about an XB ONE now, *which* XB ONE - and *where*?

I'm thinking the Project Scorpio model for the big home theater screen, with current models deployed elsewhere.

The home theater screen deployment is obvious - that will be where 4K begins.  Everywhere else will be secondary.

HALO WARS 2 - 343's return to the PC in a monster way.  (We asked for it - didn't we?)

Is MADDEN also going to be cross-play-ready?

I don't remember hearing PHil say it, but I did look away, maybe it was posted on screen.

Yeah it was on screen (as in the big screen behind him).

I think it's a plus, specially if it's going to support VR through the Rift and maybe even the Vive?   Developers get a year to bring out games to take advantage of it.

Personally it's not the hype, it the surprise of not knowing what's coming.

How does showing it on the actual day differ (or lessen the hype) then if it's shown a few days earlier?

Because the information and the delivery is not controlled by the corporations.

Annoyed that it appears that the Xbox One S does not support kinect?  Unless I am missing something but the back of it did not have a spot for it.  So even if I wanted to replace the one connected to my main TV for 4k video, I cant hook up the kinect...

By the way, I really expected RDR2 at MS' conference. It's going to be multiplatform but they usually pull off the marketing on Rockstar games!

Also that leak list lol

18 out of 19: 94,74% accurate.

I'm thinking more in terms of 4K - not VR.

HALO WARS 2 in 4K.  Chew on THAT for a bit.

Separate USB adapter in the rear of the S - not a dedicated KINECT adapter as in the current ONE.

It still supports Kinect.

It does, MS are going to be running a program to supply free adaptors to those that already have a Kinect/XB1 combo. Well... at least i read that somewhere.

They are, I saw a post about that as well on twitter.

Xbox One S is £249 for 500GB, £299 for 1TB and £349 for 2TB edition.     I expect the S will quickly replace the old XB1s at retail since they both start at the same price.

the one s 2tb is $399, so it seems this was bs

Then there must be two SKUs, because $299 was 100% on screen.

"Starting at".

Details from Xbox Wire:

Xbox One S. Debuting a sleek new design and “robot white” color, the new Xbox One S is the smallest and most compact Xbox ever. The 40 percent smaller console has an internal power supply and supports 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray movies and content streamed from partners like Netflix and Amazon Video. High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for video and gaming delivers richer, more luminous colors in games like Gears of War 4.1 Available for preorder beginning today and in stores starting August 2016:

500GB Xbox One S is $299 USD/ £249 GBP / €299 EUR,

1TB Xbox One S is $349 USD / £299 GBP / €349 EUR

Limited launch edition 2TB Xbox One S will be available in select markets for $399 USD / £349 GBP / €399 EUR.

There's no other SKU, $399 is the limited edition 2TB version,  the S is meant to replace the OG XB1 at retail, I'm sure MS has already switched it's production to the S and stopped or are close to stopping production of the original.

Also it sounds like Microsoft is holding back some Xbox One dashboard updates for the October release and Gamescom.

Hmmm... Despite the Scorpio coming, at £249 for the S 500GB model, that could replace my living room XB1, then that could go in the man cave / game room / office until Scorpio can replace it in there... decisions decisions.

    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep. Songs of Conquest is a turn-based 4X strategy game where you'll be managing a kingdom, making tough decisions, and taking down enemy forces in tactical combat. Meanwhile, Rogue Waters is a roguelike where, as a pirate captain, you command a ship and crew through procedurally generated encounters. The double giveaway is coming to an end on June 11. On the same day, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks will join in as the next freebie. Another Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing a refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The June selection is Octopath Traveler 2, The Riftbreaker, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, INDIKA, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Construction Simulator, Hell Clock, and Overlooting to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on July 6, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. The Humble Store also brought in standard gaming collections this week. The IGN Live Bundle kicked things off with games like Control, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blair Witch, Rollerdrome, and The Last Campfire for $10. At the same time, the We Will Always be Here bundle carried in titles like Bad End Theater, Thirsty Suitors, Vampire Therapist, and Tavern Talk for $12. Next, the 2K Sports Champions Bundle comes touting games like NBA 2K26, PGA TOUR 2K25, OlliOlli World Rad Edition, and TopSpin 2K25 with a hefty $25 price tag. Lastly, the Redline Racing Bundle is touting games like Art of Rally, Descenders, Mudrunner, and Assetto Corsa Competizione with a $10 price tag.
