I've seen terrible described games with a correct answer in 30 seconds so I am hoping I have the same luck.

 

System - not sure, PS3 or 360 (possibly PC) but I def saw it was coming to XB1 and possibly PS4

Side scroller, graphics werent anything to write home about

Concept was some sort of defending a central point, can build up walls/traps - you ventured out during the day to collect resources and I believe you were then attacked at night.  

 

Thats all I got, I watched a video on youtube and I loved the gameplay but cannot remember the name for the life of me.

were the graphics 8 bit/retro, pixel art or modern?

I cant remember, but I dont think they were retro
