Built in User Account in Active Directory - Critical or nah?

Recommended Posts

We have a built in user account in our domain that I believe is a legacy account from when we had a Windows NT domain before all of our upgrades.

The username is "Replicate" and it is a member of the usergroup "Replicators" and unfortunately is also a Domain Admin.

Our domain has multiple domain controllers at different locations so I am a little afraid to pull the trigger on disabling the account or even changing the password as I am afraid it will cause our domain to break.

Do any of you have the Replicate user and if so is yours active? I can't seem to find it in any logs...

you can disable...I would disable and not delete.  See if anything fails.

Replicator is a group, not a user.  It is not a member of anything and nothing is a member of it.
