Question about Windows 10 Activation

I upgraded someones laptop about 4-5 months ago to Window 10. Shortly after that her husband died. Her finances took a tumble and on top of that she has started raising her great grand child by herself. Because of her money situation she quickly had internet disconnected. When I left there I had no way of knowing she was going to disconnect internet, assuming it would get activated.Yesterday she called me and said her laptop was frozen and she could do nothing with it. I stopped by and hard booted it and now all is fine with the machine. Except when I went to her setting and then activation, her activation never got activated because of her loss of internet. My question is will Windows 10 continue to operate without internet connection to Microsoft to activate. I believe since she never had the chance to activate and if she gets internet back that Microsoft will not activate it.

Take it to your house, or public hotspot, and get it activated.

 

A local library may be a good place to do all updates.

You can activate by phone, too. The dialog should give you the number to call.
