Phantom Spaceman
I recently installed Mandrake 8.0 and it does detect my soundcard (yamaha opl3-sax) but when i try to test it it says modprobe failed, or something along those lines. Does anyone know of drivers for it or a way to get it working? Thanx

configure Veteran Posted September 6, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 6, 2001 I think modprobe is unable to locate your soundcard's IRQ. There are two ways to get this fix. One, is to do insmod instead of modprobe. But, by doing insmod, you'll need to specify all nescessary parameters, usaully these module will come with a document, try look around. The second way is to set 'Plug and Play OS' to disable in your BIOS so that your BIOS can detect and set those IRQ for you and after you booted into linux, try modprobe again.
