Steps I've done so far, delete bootcat.cache - rebooted copied bootcat.cache from another server, still doesn't work bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot, bootsect /nt60 D: /mbr SFC.EXE /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows ckkdsk I am able to attach the vhdx to another VM and see all the files..
