Help copying to CD

i have a copy of windowsXP on my hard disk copied from a CD.

I can install from the hard disk (its on another partition) but when i copy the files from hard disk to CDR and try to install I get errors during installing such as cannot copy file kernel32.dll,... etc... I tried it a few times and the same but with different files. I burned a few copies to CD and all the same

I used Easy CD Creator 3.5 with default settings.

Nero with default settings and

easy CD Creator 5 set as Disc at once

Any thoughts?

How should i do it properly with either Nero (version 5.5.2.4) or Easy CD Creator (3.5 or 5)

Is there any free software out there that will do it??
