In my opinion Connectwise Control (formally screenconnet) kills Gotoassist with it's pinky!

Not exactly sure if that is legal. Nor am I going to look into it. Usually free is for test/non production environments. I have never seen a free for partners in live/production environments. They paid something for production.

You'd be surprised. We have several gold and silver partnerships with MS which gives us discounts and free products that we are allowed to use in production eveniromments.

So a little bit of an update. So far still think ti's the best thing since sliced bread soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than Gotoassist.

Occasional use there is no problem, hours of use a day or week, you have to pay..they eventually flag your ip/account.

I use it too, I might use a few hours here or there but they never care. I have been flagged in the past when using it a lot, esp from work.

So far I'm 6 months into it and am in LOVE with connectwise Control when comparing it to GoToAssist. I only wish I had switched years ago.

If I had to list any con's with connectwise I can think of only 2.

1) Drag and drop is hit or miss sometimes it works great, but the other 60% of the time all I get is an X on where I'm trying to drag and drop a file into a user's machine and have to choose the send file option instead. After sending the first file and then selecting the second file, the send dialog box defaults to documents and not to the last location you just sent a file from.

2) When using Internet Explorer to have them download the client, the "run application box" is usually suppressed on the title bar and waiting for the user to click it. Unfortunately, A lot of users lack the knowhow to locate that box on the title bar in which case I have them close IE and open chrome and it works without issue.
