Question
Gerowen
So I've been using Cyberlink PowerDirector 12 since the full version came with this laptop I bought, but one thing I noticed was that exported/edited videos were never as smooth looking as the original source videos. This was never a huge problem with 60fps videos, but it made 30fps videos look choppy/jerky. I tried increasing resolution, increasing bitrate, etc. and nothing helped. I would have increased framerate, but that almost seemed like cheating since, logically, a 30 fps edited version of a 30 fps source video should look just as smooth as the original without having to artificially fix it by raising the framerate.
Well anyway, I finally figured out what was causing it; the deblocking filter. I made a short video demonstrating what was happening and how to fix it.
