Return to Vvardenfell in Bethesda's new content for The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online players already technically have access to the Province of Morrowind in the form of Stonefalls, the Deshaan Plains, and Bal Foyen, but the latest expansion to ESO will bring the mainland of Vvardenfell. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind will be the largest ESO content update Bethesda has released yet, and adds the same amount of area as included in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind's base game.

The new expansion to ESO takes place 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, so you'll get to see Vvardenfell in its heyday. Red Mountain hasn't erupted and thrown the province into turmoil, and Vivec City is still in its infancy. All the sights are waiting to be seen, from the mushroom towers of the Telvanni wizards to the docks of Seyda Neen.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind also brings the first new class since the premiere of ESO. The Warden is a druid-like warrior who has the ability to use nature-based magic to fight their foes. Additionally, the Warden gets a powerful companion in the form of the War Bear, a bear that rips through the Warden's enemies with massive claws.

A new Player-vs-Player mode arrives with Vvardenfell as well. The Battlegrounds PvP mode will pit teams of 4v4v4 against each other in arena-style combat. These battles will take place in the Ashlands and are sure to be intense.

Continues...

So when they say the $60 version includes Morrowind and the "base game" does that mean everything up until now or just the very initial release plus Morrowind.

According to the wikipedia there are DLCs for:

The Imperial City

Orsinium

Thieves Guild

Dark Brotherhood

and Shadows of the Hist

If NONE of those are included in the $60 price then I'll pass.  If ALL of them are included that may be worth giving it a try.  The "Gold" edition that's already available seems to include everything but the last one (and the upcoming Morrowind)

As far as I know those were all free content updates. So they should be included.

I'm pretty sure they're not.  They're all paid DLC.

Also on consoles at least you can get the bare minimum game called "Tamriel Unlimited" (the name they gave it when they dropped the subscription) for $20 which included NONE of the DLCs I listed.

You can also get the "Gold" version right now for $60 which includes Tamriel Unlimited + The Imperial City DLC + Orsinium DLC + Thieves Guild DLC + Dark Brotherhood DLC.

This is what confuses me about the new $60 Morrowind game that includes the "base game" plus Morrowind Expansion.  The Morrowind Expansion is $20 if you already have the game.  So that means it would cost only $40 to buy Tamriel Unlimited and then the Morrowind DLC so if that's what they're calling the base game it's a $20 rip off.  On the other hand if they're going to reduce the price of the Gold Edition in June when the Morrowind expansion comes out (to say $40 or so) and make the new $60 Morrowind include everything in Gold + Shadows of the Hist then it would seem like a reasonable deal... it's just "base game" doesn't sound like all prior DLC expansions to me.

The base game is normally just the first game they introduce, bar any DLCs or expansions, so can't see you getting everything for the $60

Then I guess with the $60 Morrowind Base Game plus Morrowind release they're just expecting people to be too stupid to realize that you can get the base game for $20 and the Morrowind expansion for $20 and save yourself $20 over the overpriced Morrowind release?  That doesn't even include the fact you can probably find the base game on sale for even cheaper than the $20 MSRP since it's been out for a while.  WOW, what a deal!

EDIT:  Just found out the Morrowind DLC is $40 for people who already have the game, not $20.  You're still probably better off finding the base game on sale and paying the $40 over buying the new $60 release but at least that makes a bit more sense.  Either way I'll pass.

Remember it's also possible to subscribe to the game which provides Crowns (in-store currency), which you can use to buy the DLCs. You can then cancel the sub and but keep the DLC unlocked.

I was under the impression that the DLC you unlocked via subscription were only accessible so long as you keep your subscription active.

The expansions are automatically unlocked when you subscribe, but you are also given 1500 Crowns per subscribed month to spend however you wish (costumes, expansions, mounts and pets). The Crowns don't expire when you cancel the Sub and anything you paid for is yours to keep. Two months membership would unlock 1 expansion.

Or you could buy Crowns when they go on sale (usually a few times per year), at 40-50% off.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
