Factory resetting an android tablet

Patient: Lenovo TAB S8-50LC

 

Medical record: After the Owner initiated the factory data wipe procedure from the settings' menu, the Patient entered "erasing data" coma for more than 18 hours. The next day, the Owner tried to revive the Patient by initiating power button + volume UP key combination. It's been three hours now since the Patient was put in a state of "formatting /data..."

 

Prognosis?

Actually he might not be, but I couldn't resist. Can you remove the battery? What would happen if you remove the battery, reinsert it and then just try turning the device on?

It's got the non-removable one.

 

After doing some research, I've learned that the formatting procedure can take up to 8 hours.

 

I think that if I press power + volume Up one more time, it will re-enter the same "formatting /data..." state again, so I've decided to give it some more time before attempting to do this.

Eureka! The Patient has now fully recovered!
