Soundbar Setup

I'm getting a bit confused here so let me explain how I intend to set it up

 

Soundbar to TV via HDMI

Xbox one to soundbar via HDMI.

 

Is there anything wrong with that?  The instructions on the xbox website says it have an hdmi to your soundbar and then another hdmi to your tv, but whats the point?

You MAY experience audio lag if going via the TV, but then again you may not - not the most helpful comment, but hey, it is what it is.

Ahh I see, the soundbar I want is the yamaha ysp 2700 and can use that as pass-thru and does hdr n all, so fingers crossed
