Fun w/circular text in PS ...

Question

Had a little fun doin this little thing in PS w/the help of this tutorial ...

http://www.heathrowe.com/tuts/circulartext.asp

Of course its not pefrect as I am relatively new at this stuff and the "styles" are my own.Wish I knew how to improve on the transparency. :p

Still, I thought it might help to encourage others to give it a go! (Thats what its all about, is it not?)

Nice one, but you are blatently violating Adobe's guidelines on it's copyright use (their site)

Trademarks must never be abbreviated.

?

CORRECT: Take a look at the new features in Adobe? Photoshop? software.?

?

INCORRECT: Take a look at the new features in PS.

Only joking, I just saw this site and thought they were funny/

Isnt there a way to just make the text path circular in PS CS?

I dont know other than what is suggested in the tutorial. I would like to though as CS is what I use. Actually did not seem to be all that complicated though.

Cough and they will come... :D

While there isn't a direct method as such, there's the next best thing...

New Layer, Select the ellipse shape but don't draw it yet!

Click the paths icon at the top of the screen:

textpath-menu.jpg

Now draw the circle. (It will just create a circular path.)

Select the text tool and hover the cursor over the new circle path. (You'll see the cursor change.)

Type away!

Remember, you're not limited to circles - try different shapes...

Alright Sniper, thanks!! :)

What about the "~" paths? So how do you do them? Hmm ?

Think about it, the answer is right in front of you. Type a very large ~

On the menu: Layer/Type/Convert to Shape

Now you can do exactly the same as before with the text tool, just hover it over the new shape. :)
