Sunless Sea - Any Good?

Hi guys,

 

Does anyone have, or has anyone played, Sunless Sea? I've seen that it's in the summer sale on Steam for CHF 12.77 (which includes the expansion, Zubmariner) and I'm tempted by it. The reviews seem great, and it's praised for its storytelling, but I can't seem to get an idea of the balance between storytelling and actual gameplay. I have no problem with the reading aspect of things (as I mentioned somewhere else, I think the Shadowrun series is great) but I do need some actual gameplay to be present rather than just clicking dialogue choices all the way through.

 

Can anyone help me figure out if it would be a good game for me?

I've not personally played it so can't give an experienced perspective but I did recently start watching the following play through from this guy;

 

 

I've only managed a couple of videos but I think you can get a good idea fairly quickly on the game.

It is a very slow paced game. I played it when it first came out (before any expansions) but I didn't make it all that far into it.

 

Not for me personally but it's by no means a bad game. It's actually executed very well.
