Question
Steven P. Administrators
So I cloned my 120gb system disk (ssd) to a newer, quicker 240gb ssd using Macrium Reflect Home Edition
Changed the boot order to boot to the new drive, all seemed good
Cleared the 120gb drive (I intend to use it for data backup) rebooted, Windows won't start, gives a blue screen about needing to repairi startup, boot to UEFI firmware etc, none work
Tried startup repair from a USB key with Windows 10 Creators Update installation media on it, doesn't work
Tried bcedit to repair the bootloader, says file can't be overwriiten
Discover that C;\ partition isn't even marked as ACTIVE and that I can't set it so because it's not a MBR disk
Sweat a bit
Remember that I can make Rescue Media with Macrium Reflect on my laptop, last ditch effort before a full clean install (I am on the Fall Creators Update Fast Ring preview, so ehhh).
Boot into Macrium Reflect, select Windows Startup repair, takes a few seconds, asks me to reboot
Windows is working again!
Phew!
