2 Problems!

Hey,

I have to problems here, I'm sure it will be easy for you to help me out :D

1. The Left Pane/Frame has disappeared, you know the one that comes when you open a folder, e.g. My Documents, where it has a list of options, like Rename, Delete etc. How can I get it back?

2. I tried to change the folder icons by going to: My Computer > Tool > Folder Options and I clicked the last tab. Well when I tried changing the icon it didn't work, so I restored the old icon. Normally when I click a folder it opens on the same window, now it dosn't (And yes, I checked the first tab and it is marked in that radio box it should open all in the same windows)

For no 1. In the folder, click Tools>Folder Options. Then make sure the radio button that says "Show common tasks in folders" is selected.

Thanks. Anyone have any idea about no 2. I would do a system restore, but it never works :(

install tweakui (its a microsoft powertoy so free) it has a rebuild icons function that may fix number 2

Sorry, I downloaded TweakUI, rebuilt the icons but it didn't work. Any more ideas ?

yeah, close all explorer windows and import this (Y)

Okay, I closed explorer.exe and CTRL + ALT + DEL and ran the registry key, opened up explorer.exe and tried to see if it worked, it didn't. I rebooted, still the same. Am I doing this correctly ?

hmmm...

i didn't mean to close explorer.exe :laugh: i just meant close the open windows (Y) either way, that should have worked :unsure: must not be what i thought it was...

Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Cancel
