Is that a Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander I see stashed next to your printer? I thought nobody bought those.

What 'new shiat'?  I'm not getting an Xbox if that's what you mean.  I still have a lot more fun playing all my old games than all the new games.  Nothing beats NHLPA '93.

They're all piled up there because there really isn't a lot of room in that corner of the room.  It's bad enough with all the controllers in the bottom cupboard below and all the cables behind the TV stand.

Just use emulators on your pc.

Just thought id share my project with you guys as well. Parts have been sitting in boxes for past few months and i finally found some breather to hook'em all up. Just got it up and running a week ago.

I play alotta games, so this is my gaming rig with the main components:

FX-55

A8V Deluxe

Corsair 4400 Twinx 512 x2

2001FP 20.1" LCD @ 1600 x 1200 @ 16ms

X800 XT PE

80gig x2 @ RAID 0, Western Digital

Z-5500 speakers

Everything is stock standard, no overclocking planned for the moment as it handles anything and everything u throw at it. Purring like a kitten.

When I got my A8V Deluxe and X800, PCIe and SLi came out, doh! But i aint complaining. really hard to catch up now. stuff's coming out too darn fast. Comments welcome :)

Here's mine all over again as I never did close-up on what was happening... So, I'm doing it now.

01.jpg - Plasma television.

02.jpg - My slim modelled PlayStation 2 with Logitech wireless controller. My other controllers are in a draw to keep it tidy and as I rarely play with other people. Component AV and digital output (optical) connected into my television and home theatre system.

03.jpg - My platinum GameCube and a USB keyboard underneath for when I go online on PlayStation 2.

04.jpg - My game and DVD collection, some more games are in my room cabinet but these are the ones I have recently played.

05.jpg - Um... A very blurry overview of my 'gaming area' with a very high-contrasted Boyd on the screen.

Don't think I've updated my setup pics here for a while:

consoles.jpg

Gamecube, PSP, Nintendo DS, AV Switch, GBA/NDS games and my PDA.

television.jpg

My 28" CRT. I've spent a hell of a long time calibrating this for the best geometry I could get, and the best picture quality. It's an IDTV, so I get freeview in it, and it had a ton of other features. (picture-in-picture etc)

powerbook.jpg

My latest addition: the 17" Powerbook; the slogan for the iMac is "where did the computer go." At only 1" thick, I've been saying this more about my Powerbook than the iMac. ;)

On the left is my A5 Wacom graphics tablet, the mouse is my Logitech MX1000, that's my iPod Shuffle charging in the USB2.0 Hub, and to the right of that are my Grado SR-80s.

games.jpg

My other games. At one point I didn't have enough room to store all my games on that.

My setup had changed a lot in the last few months.

I did have a fairly good 1000 watt 5.1 setup (with a massive sub) but when I bought my Grados (headphones) they just couldn't compare, so I ended up selling them. I've still not heard any speakers that compare to these headphones, and I still don't have an amp for them yet. (although a few devices have amplified headphone jacks)

I had an Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube at one point, but sold the ps2/xbox shortly before getting the PSP/NDS, partly to raise funds for them, but also because there isn't much due out for either that I'm actually interested in now. They're so cheap now, if there is a killer app, I could easily go out and get one anyway.

There used to be a 20" iMac where the Powerbook is now. While the Powerbook is a smaller screen, I actually prefer working on it, and feel more productive. Even though I do a lot of Photoshop work, I think there was a lot of "wasted" space on that big a screen.
