PSU is Corsair AX-1200 So it has 2 4+4 pin EPS12V/ATX12V connectors (based on this) ... you shouldn't have any compatibility issues (regardless of whichever motherboard/processor you decide to buy). patseguin 1 Share

Great thanks man. One more thing occurred to me. My Windows 10 license won't transfer to the new hardware right? Unless I stay on insider program? Jim K Global Moderator Posted November 4, 2017 Global Moderator Share Posted November 4, 2017 If you upgraded from a retail 7/8.1 ... it should. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Also, my 8 year old i7 extreme is 3.4 GHz , is that Ryzen @ 3.0 still a step up? A 1200W PSU? No; that's overkill as it is. It will drive all of that just fine. Nexus-6
You don't need an aftermarket cooler. The included Wraith Spire is really good. I assumed the aftermarket cooler was so that I could reliably achieve 4GHz.

Nexus-6
The Wraith Spire performs on par with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. It's really nice as a stock cooler (and destroys Intel's pathetic stock cooler), but if you want a higher overclock, you should be looking at some higher high end cooler (i.e. one from Noctua). patseguin 1 Share
patseguin Global Moderator Posted November 16, 2017 Author Global Moderator Share Posted November 16, 2017 Does this look like a good build to you guys? All 3 were "frequently bought together" on Amazon. Not sure why the memory is only 3000 and not 3200 though unless 3200 doesn't work with Ryzen? Update: I ordered a coffee lake combo a few minutes ago. Seeing as how my current build listed 8 years, I figured I won't skimp and went high end. I would recommend the ASRock Fatal1ty X370 GAMING X. You probably have to get it from Newegg though.

I ended up buying a Coffee Lake, Asus Maximus mobo, gskill 3200 RAM, and a 960 pro M2. Threw my budget out the window since I only upgrade every 8 years now lol. ;-)
