Power off / reboot without root

Is there an app (or any other way) that will shutdown or reboot an android phone without root access?

Apps like this look like they can do it.  But puts an extra icon set on the home screen.

Launchers like Nova Launcher edit the power menu to include a restart option.  Also, most phones you press the power button and you get power options that way.

 

I would root the phone.  Many more options and if you just root and do not apply a custom recovery, should still be able to get OTA updates.

A lot of banking apps (and others) will not run if you root, and root-hiding apps don't always work.

Is there a way i can put an icon to reboot or power off on my home page to select either and it will do what they are suppose to do? My phone is not rooted.

I can't find anything that doesn't require root permissions. Although my question is:

 

 

Does your phone not have a power button? Or are you trying to achieve a specific task? Maybe if we knew more we could suggest an alternative.

Just looking for a quicker option as i did the same with my desktops.

I have the same requirement of Bruinator.

And an explanation, too. My phone is a company phone (they own it, and keep management on it). Thus I can't root it.

I would like to turn it off at night (according with local time, autoadjusting on network help) to avoid people in other time zones involuntarily call me during sleeping (asI often forget to turn it off, becoming a zombie the whole day after, because when you're coping with jet-lag you're less attentive and moreover a sudden awakening usually prevent to sleep again, at least to me ).

Thus power-on is an important thing, but power-off scheduling is a must for me.

And I haven't found a way to do it on my brand new Samsung A7 (2018) thus I likely return it if I don't found a way.

Any suggestion?

There are apps for disabling things based on time.  Like after 8, don't accept incoming calls, etc.   As for shutting down or turning on I don't know.

Ifttt (If this then this) can be used to do what you need, the other option would be to enable the do not disturb mode, it can be tailored to suit your needs as well (only allowing some calls, not allowing any calls, etc)
