ARchamps
Well, I have an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400. It came with my system when I bought it 2 years ago from DELL. Anywhoo, I was wondering if its ok to switch from NVIDIA to ATI. My concern is if it will cause any harm to the BIOS or anything b/c it was built onto dell? BTW my change is this: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 (32mb) --> ATI Radeon 7500 (64mb) Does ATI cards require any RAM? I only have 128. Thx in advance
Arch
It's fine, but I think you should go for a higher end card then the 7500. That's some pretty old harware.
Sophism
if u only have 128 megs of ram there really no reason to upgrade. Byut the answer to your queston. No it will not mater just unistall the nvidia drivers shut down ur dell. Open her up. Pop out old card insert new card. start computer. install new driver. wala! ARchamps
The reason I'm putting that card on is because I don't want to buy a brand new one yet. I want to ge ta new pc, but I also want to keep using this one, so I'm just doing a simple upgrade. I will probobly get some RAM as well. SO first I un-install NVIDIA drivers.. then I shut down, pop it in and install new ones? arite cool thanks guys!
