Had a Song in my head, don't know what it is

So I have recently had this Song in my head and I have no idea what it is apart from two lines.

 

No idea on lyrics but the last bit I remember is maybe something like "when he (marries) her". 

 

Now, I'm sure it's in an animated movie and sure the singer is narrating a story. The story is possibly a love story where the guy ends up doing something bad.

 

There's a slower version, not sure if it's a reprise or part of the song. I have a feeling it's part of the song.

 

I'm thinking it's from something like Moana or Princess and the Frog.

 

It's a really simple song, sung on what I thought was a banjo but it might be another similar instrument.

 

Just had a thought now and like in Moana when the beast thing is really the island, I think the subject of the story in the song isn't a person, maybe?

 

A challenge and a half, I know. I'll see if I can hum/sing it and upload it.
