Well, here is something from me back to the Neowin Community. I have used Neowin for years for information, but never really contributed that much.

The motivation behind this was simply the great BeOS icons. I wanted to use them everywhere, but I am a beginner in this, so please let me know if I made any mistakes and where I can improve. For example, I couldn't figure out how to change the standard buttons in an explorer window.

Easy way to update the Firebird theme to work in the latest nightlies can be found here

Instructions:

Download Replacer and use it replace the system files.

Thanks to those who have made the icons, skins, and wallpaper.

I am also trying to update the BeOS Firebird Theme to work in 0.7+. I am having lots of trouble because I have never worked on a theme before. I will release it if I ever get done.

Again feel free to make suggestions and comments. I think that goes without saying on Neowin. ;)

Yes, you need permission, unless the icons are distributed under some license or copyright that allows you to freely distribute them. Better check with KoL.

Please release this mate. I absolutely love the Beos Icons. I'd make a shell32 myself but can not find enough icons to make it worthwhile.

hush66 is one of the best in the biz for avi's if you ask me. if he likes the set he may be willing, not sure. but he does a great job with them!!

The icons themselves were released under this license, I think all you need to do is distribute your pack with that included.

You have just done what I have been wanting to do for months.

One problem, the cursor(s) link in your first post opens up a jpg, not the cursors.
