kiddingguy
My license for ESET is about to expire. I do like to product and suite. I have to renew. However, I do see that Kaspersky is offering a competitive proposition; Security Cloud. Which suite is better in protection? Or doesn't it really make a difference and are they both as good. 0 goretsky Supervisor Posted January 18, 2019 Supervisor Share Posted January 18, 2019 Hello, My understanding (and you should absolutely, definitely verify this) is that ESET allows you to renew for 30 days after your license expires with the renewal discount. So, that should give you enough time to try a trial version of Kaspersky's offering and see if it is a better choice for you. Here's a HOWTO I wrote a few months ago in the Spiceworks (IT community) forum about how to evaluate anti-malware (aka anti-virus) software: https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/155722-evaluate-antivirus-software. It may be a little bit more geared towards business users than consumers, but you may still find it of value as well. 0 Marujan
make image of your HDD, install each app and test for a week. Choose what you like more. see reviews https://antivirusinsider.com/eset-vs-kaspersky/ https://www.proficientblogging.com/kaspersky-vs-eset/ The Bottom Line on Kaspersky vs ESET Now that we have compared the different aspects of ESET Smart Security 9.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security in a broader manner, we can make the decisions about the selection. Judging by the pricing, Kaspersky is far more affordable than ESET counterparts. At the same time, Kaspersky manages to include many features for advanced protection, such as parental controls and web-based protection. Also, we found that the three-product section is easier for the selection. Altogether, considering the fact that you want to have standard-level protection at the lowest price, you should go for Kaspersky Antivirus. 0 Yogurth
ESET is not what it used to be. Detection rates went dramatically down after V3 or V4, few of my former associates got burned by it. Not recommended at all.
