call blocker / caller ID

Recommended Posts

most of the call blocker / caller id apps in the playstore are decent and will do what you need of them. My issue personally with most of them is if you choose the 'disconnect' option instead of 'send to voicemail' it will still ring your phone for a fraction of a sec and pickup the call and instantly end it; the problem with that is after disconnecting the call the screen would remain on in my pocket eating up battery life for some reason.

I would check with your carrier to see if they offer call blocking from their end; some carriers even offer an app to control the carrier level blocking.

T-Mobile / Metro by T-Mobile are a great example; they have the Name ID app; it offers free Scam Call blocking and for $5/month you get extra blacklist/whitelist options as well as additional auto block categories. It's a great app and I use it with subscription myself. the disconnect is actually from carrier level so it doesn't buzz your phone at all unless you have it set to give you a notification about the blocked call.

I know I am late to the game, but Truecaller is one of the best caller ID/call block programs, I use it and it is very easy to block calls, and it also blocks top spammers by default, not to mention that it shows you who is calling (not just the number)
