Tiger Woods produced a scintillating finish to win a fifth Masters title and end an 11-year wait to claim a 15th major.

There were raucous celebrations around the 18th green as Woods finished with a two-under-par 70 to win on 13 under, one clear of fellow Americans Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

Overnight leader Francesco Molinari's hopes sunk with two double bogeys on the back nine and he had to settle for a share of fifth on 11 under.

Woods, written off by so many so often as he battled back problems in recent years, punched the air in delight, a wide smile across his face, before celebrating with his children at the back of the green.

"I'm a little hoarse from yelling," said the 43-year-old. "I was just trying to plod my way around all day then all of a sudden I had the lead.

Fitting that the record he broke today (longest drought between Masters wins) belongs to the man whose records he is chasing - Jack Nicklaus.  Oddly, if he catches Nicklaus' record for most wins at Augusta, he will also own the record for OLDEST Masters champion (he already owns the record for youngest).

Interesting fun facts. A few more:

Tiger Woods seems to play his best golf when he's tackling the iconic venues in the game, the Yankee Stadiums and Fenway Parks of golf, if you will.

In his prime, he hit shots back then that most of us only dream of. Woods built the foundation of his amazing career — 79 career victories and 14 majors — on a slew of courses where he dominated. The question everyone wants to know is, will his win and/or major total ever grow again? Early indications in 2018 is that a healthy Tiger is back, and maybe so.

He's the first player in PGA Tour history to win six tournaments at least five times.

True - I had the good fortune to watch him (on TV) chew up Pebble Beach in 2000.  (Most - if not all - the records he set there are COURSE records, if not US Open records - and are still standing - two decades later; THAT is what is scary.)  Also, Augusta National had been (supposedly) "Tiger-proofed" - twice.  So he can't win it his old way (driving courses into submission; however, he can't do that now anyway; remember, he's had more back surgeries than Nicklaus and Sam Snead (the two men he is chasing records-wise) put together).  He's doing it with his putter (which he had NOT been known for when younger) and his brain.  If I am not mistaken, his "greens in regulation" for this Masters is ALSO a record - again, something he has never been known for.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
