i know there is a tool release by microsoft that need a scripts ,but i have found so easy

are there alternative legit software to help me to perform a full custom installation like office 2013?

may i know the best way and more easy way to perform a simple custom install ?

running w10 pro  64bit, last updated

thanks

best regards

If I remember correctly, you can use the downloadable Click2Run (C2R) executable from Microsoft which will simply install the bog standard version.

However I think if you want to customise it, the only way is using the XML files provided. They can be customised to install the features you want, download updates, etc.

is the solution is meant to work for companies or as a private person?

This works on company versions

with this, You can customize your entire office installation

The Office Customization Tool is part of the deployment process for installing Office on hundreds or thousands of computers. To follow this process end-to-end, we recommend completing the assessment and planning phases for your Office deployment. If you're not an enterprise administrator and are looking to install Office 365 in your home or business, see Install Office with Office 365.

"Ensure you select all the text below and copy to a word processor. Paste all the code and select "Save As...". Name the file "config.xml" without the quotations. You will need to specify the location of the configuration file by using "setup.exe /config [path to file]". This can also be used in a batch file to simplify this process. More information can be found"

Because most users aren't power-users. They just want to install the application and use them. C2R makes this a pretty seamless process. The options are still there, you can customize the config to your liking, which requires a tad more work than before, but again that is geared towards power users.

And that has been true of C2R since it launched (with Office 2013).  C2R is not new - it dates back to 2013.  Look at merely my first post when I referred to it - and it is not even unique to Office.  It's in practically any product that can be custom-installed - from Office to Visual Studio to *Windows* - in fact, it launched in Office and Windows first..  C2R does not require a giant-economy-sized installer - a floppy-disk will do.  In fact, installers can be e-mailed.  And don't even get me *started* on Azure and C2R.

    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
    • Speak for yourself. I saw it on Feedly, came here to read it, and did read it until the steps to activate. I skipped them to read the last paragraph. I knew it was probably not "the most requested feature", but knowing Neowin, I knew the article was going to talk about a feature nonetheless. I've seen Neowin in its best and worst.
    • See if this article I wrote the other day works for you.
