Is there any way I can use Unix within Windows?

I want to learn how to use unix, but I have problems with Linux and my video card. So I thought there may be an alternative that I could use in Windows. I heard cygwin is the closest thing to unix in a windows environment, so I may go with that if it's recommended. Thanks in advance.

Gah!

It cost money :(

I'm needing something that's free for the moment guys. Is there any alternatives?

VMWare and VirtualPC have 30 day and 45 day trials, respectively.

Perhaps you can find something else here.

I was thinking about that last night, but I didn't know if you could set a net connection up with it. If you could, that'd be great :)

Yes you can. I have used Knoppix on a PC where I work and was able to go online. I was also able to connect to some Win2k shares.

A very capable LiveCD!
