Sadly it wont stop them, they'll move on to other revenue options, for example

Why is it that you don't get the real, face value, in plain English meaning  of this? You really think that this is the same as Nancy Reagan's War on Drugs?  You really think that this is the Drug War involving the DEA and it's the same? Really?  To your point, Yes, the war on drugs has helped whether the FBI, CIA, or DEA was involved. Google you some Manuel Noriega, El Chapo, Pablo Escobar, Griselda Blanco for a start.

The drug cartels will never be abolished, ever and some probably don't want them to. But the above video  is not the same thing.

Been tried with weed. All that's happened is the gangs lowered their prices while continuing to evade  taxation , and they rob legal dealers or demand protection money.

When you already have 1500% profit margin, you have room to come down to 800% margins. 😉

Unfortunately, the price of that "legal" weed is still so high, it's ridiculous. Wasn't even a need for the gangs to lower price, if they actually did. According to this chart, average price for an ounce of weed in Michigan is $290.  I can get an ounce for $100 less than that of an assortment of varieties!

All the US military doing are protecting the US from anyone, (cartels, terrorist, etc) from taking advantage of the COVID19 situation in trying to harm Americans.

General Hilley said in summary: " We have new intelligence that the cartels are trying to take advantage of the COVID19 situation to harm Americans. Now is not the time to try this. We will use whatever force necessary to protect Americans."

That's it, no wiping out the drug trade, no war on drugs, no spin, just simple straightforward language.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
