Question

tarifa

hello dear Neowin experts good day,

hopefully this text and this question fits in this forum well - i guess and hope so since it is a question regarding websites and things alike.

the topic: setting up phpBB • Compliance with GDPR : how to do the basic editing of the given text blocks

after setting up a phpBB - which should  have its main target audience in Europe...   it is aimed to run this phpBB for a international community  so the target audience is international and the language english

i wonder how to treat the differend kinds and sorts of texts we have

in the phpBB-overview we have the following texts:

a. Privacy Acceptance Policy.-> with the texts regarding the Privacy acceptance:
b. Privacy Policy -> i guess that we  here  can customise the board’s Privacy Policy. in other words that herein we have the DSGVO  terms...
c. Terms of Use Policy.->with the texts regarding  erms of Use Policy.

a. Privacy Acceptance Policy.-> Privacy acceptance:  here we have the pre-filled version,...that looks like so:

By clicking on the “I accept this policy” button below your acceptance of these terms will be recorded. If you click on the “I do not accept this policy” button below then you will be logged out of this board.

b. Privacy Policy -> i guess that we  here  can customise the board’s Privacy Policy. in other words that herein we have the DSGVO  terms...
Here you can customise the board’s Privacy Policy.: > Privacy policy:

To comply with the GDPR you need to be made aware that your %sitename% account will, at a bare minimum, contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter “your user name”), a personal password used for logging into your account (hereinafter “your password”) and a personal, valid email address (hereinafter “your email”). Your information for your account at %sitename% is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the country that hosts us. Any information beyond your user name, your password, and your email address required by %sitename% during the registration process is either mandatory or optional, at the discretion of %sitename%. In all cases, you have the option of what information in your account is publicly displayed. Furthermore, within your account, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of  automatically generated emails. Furthermore we will store all of the IP address that you use to post with. Depending on your preferences %sitename% may send you emails to the email address that %sitename% holds  in your account which will either be that you used when you registered or one that you have subsequently changed, but you are able to change these preferences from your User Control Panel (UCP) at any time should you wish to stop receiving them. The personal details that you gave us when you signed up, or added later, will be used solely for the purposes of %sitename% board functionality. They will not be used for  anything else and neither will they be passed on to any third party without your explicit consent. You can check, at any time, the personal details %sitename% is holding about you from the Profile section of your UCP. The only other information about you is that which you decide to post in the fora, whereupon it is considered to be “publicly available” as it will have been  indexed by search engines as well as on-line archive sites. Here you can customise the board’s additional Terms of Use Policy.->Terms of Use Policy.

GDPR: To comply with the EU GDPR (2018) you need to be made aware of the following. In addition to the above %sitename% will also store all of the IP address that you use to post with. Depending on your preferences %sitename% may send you emails to the email address that you used when you registered or you have subsequently changed but you are able to change these preferences from your User Control Panel (UCP) at any time should you wish to stop receiving them.
The personal details that you gave us when you signed up will be used solely for the purposes of %sitename% board functionality. They will not be used for anything else and neither will they be passed on to any third party without your explicit consent.
the only other information about you is that which you decide to post in the fora, whereupon it is considered to be “publicly available” as it will have been indexed by search engines as well as on-line archive sites.
By clicking on the “I agree to these terms” button below your acceptance of these terms will be recorded.

c. Terms of Use Policy

by the way - two questions arise here :

where would you add the following text

[Adress
name
street
town
etc. mailadress and telephone-number:)

It contains all the necessary information in a clean, easy-to-digest format. You should modify the contents depending on whether this is a privacy policy for your website or a privacy notice about some other data processing activity.

How do we collect your data?
How will we use your data?
How do we store your data?
((  Marketing ))

again - the phpbb  should  have its main target audience in Europe...   it is aimed to run this phpBB for a international community  so the target audience is international and the language english

i wonder how to treat the differend kinds and sorts of texts we have

look forward to hear from you

Enable the Privacy policy: Enable/disable all user’s requirement to accept the GDPR (2018) on this board.

Enable the Cookie policy: Enable/disable all user’s requirement to accept the use of cookies, under EU Cookie directive (2012), on this board.

Show privacy/cookie policy: Setting this to yes will display the nav bar link to the privacy/cookie policy when the Cookie Policy is disabled, i.e. you can have a privacy/cookie policy without the need to have the acceptance box.

Privacy policy options - Block all links: Prevent a user accessing any links on the board until they have accepted the Cookie Policy.

Require cookie acceptance: Require the acceptance of board cookies before a member can either register or log-in.

Setting this to “Yes” will still allow a user to view the board (subject to permissions).

Force Privacy acceptance: Force all users on this board to accept the GDPR.

wich one should we activate - which one should we switch on:  i have found a text - that might be helpful here a gdpr_documentation see https://www.michendorf.de/attachments/article/928/gdpr_documentation.pdf

Look forward to hear from you

regards
