looking for a Text-Widget extension - similar to RSS-Feed-Block

pretty new to phpBB: i have used phpBB about 10 years ago the last time:

i am looking for a Text-Widget extension - similar to RSS-Feed-Block.. i have tried to find a image - that seems to show some thing. ( see below:)

what is wanted:
- i want to add a block of text - /(derived out of a rss-feed (or similar) there a python code should run and the output looks like so:

i just came across this great extension  the advertisment block - - and now i am musing bout the question: 
Can we use Advertisment block as a simple-text block!?

all sounds great: 

i am looking for a simple text-block that runs in phpBB 
the question is: can i use the Advertisment_manager for this..
