Should I let Windows Update this Driver from Windows Update Optional area?

Good for you :) but this does not mean that others haven't had those issues, in fact your comment comes over as dismissive   it is actually widely known about the Nvidia driver if you look on their community support forums.

You also say "you ignore them" so it's obvious why you don't get issues then.

If you let Windows manage third party software and drivers the older Nvidia driver can install over a newer one, that isn't even optional anymore, I and many others have this exact problem.

Since I've left everything more or less to defaults, WU does what it does, and it's never tried to install nVidia drivers for my system.  Not dismissing it or saying it doesn't happen, I just find it odd that it does for some, for some reason.   It doesn't happen to everyone though, so something else is at work and not just WU.

Heck, WU updated some intel system drivers back on the 22nd for me.   Heck I don't update my gfx drivers often either, I've stayed on the same version for months in the past, it's never updated on it's own through WU.   So I have to ask what's different here?

that's likely why you don't notice the issue then; those of us that update through the Geforce Experience app (and AMD equivalent) get this issue quite often where WU overwrites our driver without our intervention. And my WU is left as default settings too.

I update through the GeForce experience app as well. I just don't update the exact day a new driver is out always.

Right now I'm on the version from September for example. I'll update to the newest December version for the added Cyberpunk support in a few days when I'm getting ready to play.

I have a EVGA card, maybe that has something to do with why I don't have a issue?
