Mac Mini w/ M1 dual displays?

I've been reading conflicting information... if I use the Mac Mini w/ M1's two usb c ports as usb c to HDMI, will that support dual 1080p monitors?

 

Or will I need to use the HDMI port for one monitor, and then a USB C for the other?

 

Nevermind, I re-read the requirements straight from the Apple store.

I thought they had Thunderbolt4, and that you could daisy chain it?

Apple says that the M1 MacBook Air and M1 MacBook Pro can run one external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz. The M1 Mac mini can run one display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz connected via Thunderbolt and one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz connected via HDMI 2.0. This means that each new M1 Mac can run one less display than the model it replaced.

 

I have no idea about what you want to try.

I ended up getting one this afternoon. My apple store has a courier service, had it about an hour and a half later after ordering it. The trade in of my Mac mini 2018 for 550 was basically a no brainer for me. Runs well. Even Rosetta 2 apps run well.

 

I do have to use HDMI for one of my monitors. The other one is on USB C, which is fine, because I also have a USB C peripheral. Basically all ports are in use. Luckily my monitor (the USB-C one) has plenty of additional USB C ports on it.

 

Runs much cooler, quieter and my battery backup is almost double than what it was. Seems to be way more efficient and just as fast as my old i7 one, faster on native apps. Microsoft Office is a breeze on larger files now. Kind of an impulse buy, but with the trade in and good reviews, I decided to just go for it.

My last mac, which is under my desk in the box is a mac mini g3. I think it was used under 50 hours 😀

 

I needed it for a project at the time.

Great. I got the Macbook Air M1 and love it.  I'm now considering replacing my Windows desktop with the Mac Mini sometime next year. Let me know how it goes for you.
