I've used both types over the years and I have found that the Norelco rotary razors work better overall.

One note, for the best shave, you MUST follow the directions! Don't use any other razor for 4 to 6 weeks. If you switch often, the rotary doesn't work nearly as well.

personally I tried a few electric razors when I was younger and never really liked them. Maybe my skin is just too sensitive for them but they ALWAYS gave me horrible razor burn no matter the model I tried. I know they've gotten better in recent years but really don't care to dump the kind of money a good one costs just to try it out.

This thread isn't for manual razors but I'd still like to mention what I use. When I shave I mostly use a Defender Razor now; it's been the best manual razor I've personally used. It has a unique design where the blades are independent from each other allowing them to flex as needed.

Personally, I think the circular head razors suck. The few I've tried couldn't cut peach fuzz let alone any stiff hairs! I use electric foil razor exclusively and like the one I have very much. Can't tell you what model number it is, but it's a Remington. It doesn't get quite as close as a regular razor, but I hate those also. Make my face feel like it's on fire!

Even at 62 years old, I still have enough of a baby face that I can't grow squat for a beard or anything so an electric razor works perfectly.
