Bruinator Posted May 21, 2021 Share Posted May 21, 2021 Hi, For the past few weeks I have been getting blue screens of death on my laptop mainly with these 2 errors 1. The rules engine reported a failed VL activation attempt 0xc004f074 2. Security center failed to validate called with error DC040780. No. You can also try BlueScreenView, but the home version of Whocrashed would be fine. Either application just looks at the error message that you received and translates it into English. The 0xc004f074 is saying the KMS is unavailable. I think this had less to do with the BSOD but the Windows activation?
