Sir Topham Hatt
Hello I registered a domain name a few years back, which is mysurname.me - I use it as a front for my web space (I have nothing on the web space but it's free) but do use it for emails, so everyone emails me@mysurname.me to reach me (although it forwards to Outlook, I have set Outlook up to send from the same address, so it should look like I don't use Outlook at all). It's come up for renewal but for 5 years, it's about $94. Annoyingly, new registrations for the first year are just $4. I should add, I can't do anything like (if my surname was smith) smi.th or whatever as the last two letters of my surname are associated with a country that isn't particularly favourable in the world. Plus, I think it would be too complicated to tell people - it's already complicated enough 😛 Are there any other domain names I should consider that are fairly cheap and would be cheap as an on-going thing? I can't use .com as that's taken by a company that shares my surname. Or perhaps I should just bite the bullet and pay the $94 (which is £70 - £14 a year) - they don't do more than 5 years, which is a shame. The first time I registered a .com address, it was for something like 10 years I'm sure. Edited March 1, 2022 by Sir Topham Hatt
Brandon H Supervisor Posted March 1, 2022 Supervisor Share Posted March 1, 2022 Honestly $94 for 5 years isn't too bad a price I don't think. Sir Topham Hatt, +E.Worm Jimmy and +hedleigh 3 Share
