Issue with audio output in Media Player Classic vs KMPlayer

Question

Whenever I load a video file (extension does not matter) in Media Player Classic, it wants to output the audio via the monitor speakers despite the default windows setting is Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) but if I load the same file in KMPlayer, it plays through the computer speakers. I have checked all the settings within Media Player, and I am not finding anything that relates to audio output. Does anyone have any ideas as to what can be causing the issue?

I checked that, and it shows the speakers

Oh...and how about (Media Classic) Playback > Output > Audio Renderer?

Not sure what OS you are using ... but in Windows 10 go to Settings > System > Sound > Apps volume and device preferences and see what is being shown there.

Well whatever I changed (not sure exactly) caused it to start playing via the speakers, so I guess maybe it was set to something other than computer speakers.
