Looks generic and boring. I think I will wait till that is streaming and then take a look.

Don't know what it is about all these super hero type movies anymore, as they used to be my favorite type of flick, but I don't think I've ever been stoned enough to enjoy them. Just to far out there for me. Actually, most movies are to far fetched for me anymore.

I hear the story is pretty meh but the action is good and it's a overall fun time.  I'll watch it at some point.

I give it an 8/10. I enjoyed it even more than I expected. The story could use some improvement and some of the CGI looked off but the jokes, character design and tie-in to a greater DC universe was all great. Also, I didn't find the boy too annoying.

Overall not bad... action sequences were fun and the tie-ins to the immediate* and overall DC universe carry it.  The story itself was fine... not great, just fine... and on par with a big budget action comic book movie.  Most refreshing for me, though, was seeing a different DC character (really, characters) on the big screen, while also staying within the continuity of the universe they are building/adjusting.

Also, Noah Centineo has a major Mark Ruffalo vibe, both looks and mannerisms.

Spoiler

By immediate, I mean the Captain Marvel (Shazam) universe.... they got into that quickly and made sure it was known.  Also the Task Force X inclusions as well as the end credit cameo.... I think it was clear that Superman was there to have a nice chat with Black Adam, and not what Waller expects him to do.

Re: story, it was clear that the father was Black Adam early on, you could tell that was DJ's face... seemed kind of pointless for that to be a "reveal" later on.  I think there could have been more time spent relationship building between Black Adam and the JSA folks.

The key element that makes any of these movies successful is that they inspire the viewer to actually care about the characters. For me, this movie didn't do that. (Same thing with recent Samaritan movie; just a kid idolizing a dad substitute.) At least using the kid idolizing dad substitute trope is a little better than all of the movies using the lone wolf protecting lost pup trope.

It was OK, but for me just accentuates the many problems and inconsistencies in the DCCU...  Some things that bothered me...

1. Why are the JSA working with Waller?

2. Where were the JSA when the JLA were struggling with the Steppenwolf?

3. The JSA appear to be long established.. So why were metahumans pretty much unheard of before Justice League?

4. Who gave an American organisation worldwide jurisdiction? :p

I mean, come on guys... Before they lost their way, Marvel did at least have a PLAN with their movies, but DC seem to be making up a whole new 'verse for every single movie...

Same here, cork1958. I find that movies and tv shows of the 1950s/1960s are more my type of entertainment. I do buy a newer DVD or Blu-ray movie now and then (if it's cheap or on sale)...but I'm usually disappointed. I'm just not of this world any longer, I think. I do like The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and enjoy some of his movies.

I agree.  As much as I enjoy them, we're way past market saturation now and I'd kinda like a break...

The last (superhero) movie(s) I liked were Tim Burton's two "Batman" films with Michael Keaton, so that dates me. Tim Burton is the only filmmaker alive today whose work I want to watch anymore. So yes, I'm getting Netflix just for WEDNESDAY. How can I not? Have you seen all the trailers and clips for WEDNESDAY yet? Classic Burton style and twisted sense of humor! 😁

As for The Rock/Dwayne Johnson's films, the last one that he starred in that I liked was SAN ANDREAS.

I'll probably check out BLACK ADAM because it's DC and not Marvel!
