You may want to take your dryer apart and clean it every once and a while. Not just your ducts need some love.

Luckily I don't need to use a dryer often the clothes rack does that for me.

Just got a new dryer+washer combo. I started to read the manual and how to actually take advantage of all the fancy features. 
...if that isn't being an adult, don't know what is.

A client gave me 1 small plant when I moved in my new apartment 2 years ago. Currently I have 11 pots of plants in my balcony.

I recently took my 15+ year old dryer apart to replace the capacitor and it didn't look anything like that inside.

If i remember correctly, there should be a lint filter inside the dryer to prevent that kind of buildup! 😛

There was a cover inside the dryer that also had to be removed to gain access to it.

That's a lot of buildup!  Good thing you noticed that and cleaned it out since that's where the fire risk resides.

 

I had an issue with that same fan wheel recently where it backed out of it's threads and stopped spinning.  It caused the hot air to not circulate and wouldn't dry anything.  At least it was an easy fix!

Honestly I’d rather just buy a new washer and dryer after 10 years instead of dealing with that. 
 

I’ll stick to duct cleaning every couple years.

How many people take their dryers apart besides emptying the lent trap and getting their ducts cleaned?

Is this a Frigidaire/Electrolux EFMC 617 or 627 something? If so, there is a service bulletin for this because it's definitely isn't supposed to do that

yea, I don't know.  This is my 20-year-old dryer.

 

 

I did take the vacuum to it ... but this pre-vacuum picture looks nothing like the OP.
