Windows switching back to search when switching between tabs?

I'm in the process of doing some batch stuff, using a python script that allows me to batch create cropped images. It also creates some unnecesary text files along side the images so I'm using search just to search for png's and move them into another folder in a 2nd tab.

Only thing is, once I've used search once in a given tab, press back to come out of the search and switch tabs again, it keeps automatically opening the last search without any input to do so.

Can you replicate this? 

Just open two tabs, do a search in one, go back to the folder you were searching in and switch between the tabs.

I've just come to realise that if I focus windows explorer that it will randomly do this as well, super annoying...
