G.A.N.T. 2 Shell Pack

so is there any reason that I'm still getting unknown app icons for all my desktop (my computer, my docs, recycle bin) icons instead of their respective icons? I've rebuilt my cache and restarted many times.

I've replaced the files a couple of times already to no avail.

I just checked the replaced shell32.dll and the shell32.backup and the dll is 6.0.2800.1233 but the backed up one is 6.0.2800.1242 (if that helps in any way)

r u using the auto patcher XP??

I think its got to do with the shell32 version ur using. coz everyone here has got 1233.

but i dont think that should be the issue coz the shell version shouldnt make a difference. only thing is the updates u applied from windows update will get cut off.

try replacing the shell32 again.

its even possible that the gant 2 shell32.dll has gone bad n the icons r not showing up.

do one thing. right click on any folder, click properties > customize tab > change icon. tell me if u see gant icons when u click change icons. ( not just the default gant icon but all gant icons)

anyone here with shell32 version 1242 apply this pack??

cud someone just check if shimgvw.dll lastest version is 1106 coz thats the one i got coz thats the one ill be putting in the update.

Im currently at the process of reformatting and is currently downloading autopatcher xp...because of all the updates would GANT2 stiill work...

When i finish with the APXP Feb Edition how about i send you the dll files that will need to be updated...that way you can update dll that are most recent..

there isn't anythig wrong in using updated dll are there...

there are 42 files in the pack, u expect me to rar them each n put links to them on my page for each file individually?

thats gonna cause major confusion around here with the n00bs asking "should i download this one or that one, whats this, whats that, why is this, why is that" etc n thousand of other questions. which is gonna be a pain n more problematic for me n something which im not gonna do.

Google "gant 2 shell pack" n you'll c that the news of this pack has been posted on few other sites too n they still dont know how to install it. I cant spoon feed everyone here. Just download the exe. 13 mb isnt very huge.

well when i knew there was a shell32 version 1242 out, n was deciding whether to put that in the pack, I dont know y but everyone said to stick to 1233.

i have a problem. when i install the pack, and reboot, everything is fine. but 1 or 2 days later, the icons for my computer my documents, and all the folders come back to the default icons. whats going on? can someone help me on this? has anyone here had the same experience?

I had this problem before and realy all i did to fix the problem was use TWeakUi and rebuild my icons using TweakUi...For some reason it fixed the problem by rebuilding off the modified dll...

this xp drives me nuts, i almost full update (except for **** like .net framework, but i don't neet it and i won't d/l it only for the disk space it takes - 30 mb, what for?!), and part of my dll's aren't newest versions.

i needed some answers for which i got no reply. I needed to know the latest version of netshell.dll n shimgvw.dll for SP1 without ATXP for the update, for which i never got a reply.

As well the problem with overwriting a file, the dialogue icon that appears there, is all messed up.
