Hi,

First let me apologize if this is the wrong place for my question but didn’t know who else to ask & some of you are expert on hardware so that you might know. Tried to google but no  definitive answer.

I just bought LG Dual Inverter 1.5 Ton A/C  & Outdoor unit fan stops after set temp is reached. It also does not start for 10 to 15 minutes or sometimes not at all if indoor temp goes 2 or 3 degrees above set temp.

Also at night many times it keeps running beyond set temp bringing the temp so low that I shiver & wake up.

Before purchasing Several Sales people told me that neither Fan nor Compressor completely stop even when set tem is reached. They only slow down.

So what is the truth ? Does outdoor unit fan stop when desired temp is reached ? The compressor certainly does not so what happens then ?  And is there something wrong with my A/C.

LG did send technician & he said this is normal & if A?C does not start at 30 Celsius then lower the temp to 27 or 26. If I do that I will shiver.

Again please forgive me if this is not the right forum.

Thank You

Without knowing a thing about LG ACs...have you checked the manual?  Can you set thresholds?  Does it have AC overcooling options / auto dehumidifying?  Reason I ask is that with my thermostat..I have it set not to turn on until +2 degrees over setpoint...it will also cool 1 degree below setpoint if humidity is higher than 50%.

HVAC controllers have fuzzy-logic built in to cool past your target temperature by 1-2°C, and then come back on when the temperature exceeds the target by 1-2°C. This is to prevent the system from constantly switching on or off, to maintain the desired temperature exactly. I suggest you raise the target temperature before you go to bed then lower it again when you wake up.

Yes & no can not set the threshold. You have to manually set it to dehumidify. No I can not set it to turn on automatically at +2. I can set the temp on the unit itself when to turn it on.

About humidity, I think you might be right. It is high but the system has a condenser which cools the air as well as takes moisture out of indoor air & a pipe connected to it to drain it out. I see the constant drops of water coming out
