How does Xbox Game Pass games for Windows work? Just the subscription, or additional payments on games

Recommended Posts

Normally I buy my games, and doesn't have to deal with subscriptions.

Though I came to notice that games I would like to buy (already released and upcoming) are on Game Pass, which makes it a pretty good deal for €9,99/month.

Do they work automatically and are these included, or do I need to buy them discounted - with the subscription already in hand?  e.g. Starfield (upcoming) or Halo (already offered)?

There's no additional payment needed for anything unless the games drop off the service later.

Many will offer a premium upgrade for an early access and DLC pack though.
