JustGeorge
I have an old PC that will be used to display a power point on a lobby monitor. Is there a way to have a power point running on a second screen, while the user account is locked?
0 Brandon H Supervisor Posted February 7 Supervisor Share Posted February 7 no that's not a possibility as far as I'm aware. when you lock, the 2nd monitor will just go black. JustGeorge 1 Share
0 Nick H. Supervisor Posted February 7 Supervisor Share Posted February 7 Nope, I don't think it's possible. For those situations we would install a kiosk image. That way even if someone accessed the machine they wouldn't have access to anything on the network. JustGeorge and Brandon H 2 Share
0 Brandon H Supervisor Posted February 7 Supervisor Share Posted February 7 I agree, putting the computer in to Kiosk Mode would probably be the best option to keep things secure and from being messed with. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/kiosk-single-app JustGeorge and goretsky 2 Share
0 majortom1981
You would be better off using a raspberry pi connected to a monitor. We use Yodeck (one monitor is free). There is also screenly ose thats also free. JustGeorge 1 Share
0 JustGeorge
Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into using the kiosk mode. No RPi to mess with, unfortunately.
0 LittleNeutrino Veteran Posted February 8 Veteran Share Posted February 8 There are numerous apps you can use (like PresentationPoint) that will allow you to use a PPT as a Screensaver, so you can essentially set it as the Screensaver and then lock the PC and once the time limit is reached it will start looping the ppt.
