coolguy80
Hi, I have a HP 2778 WiFi printer since a year or two. It used to connect automatically and print from both the networks. I forgot what I did to achieve that result. Currently, I have to manually connect to each network for printing. I have two WiFi routers. Both TP-link. One is connected to the ONU. From the first one, a LAN cable is wired to the farthest room to another router. Second router is connected in router mode. Means, I can access the web configuration page of first router (192.1680.1) through it. Anyone knows how to get the WiFi printer working? You would want to connect this 2nd router as just an AP. So either set it to AP on the 2nd device, or just do it the manual way and connect it to your network via one of its lan ports and disable its dhcp server, set its lan IP to be on your first network. Where the SSID and psk of the wireless networks for both devices would be the same. So for example if your first network is 192.168.1.0/24 with the first routers IP being 192.168.1.1 for example, set the IP on the 2nd routers lan to be 192.168.1.2 for example. With your first routers dhcp handing out say 192.168.1.10-254 for IPs. Now everything is on the same network and you would be able to print no matter which AP your connected to. Thanks for the quick solution. I did not have to do anything except to change the second router (C24) mode to AP. The second router automatically assigned the same IP range as the first one. Gateway is 192.168.0.103. I am yet to check the printer on this WiFi setup. Hopefully it will work. Will update. +BudMan MVC Posted August 12 MVC Share Posted August 12 Its possible the AP mode set the lan to be dhcp and get an IP from your 1st router - and normally that mode bridges the wan interface into the lan so you can use all 5 of the ports, etc. coolguy80 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1444837-connecting-two-wifi-networks-in-my-hp-2778-printer-one-wifi-is-routed-from-first-one/#findComment-598923366 Share on other sites
